2010 Summer Camps…All About Fun

It is almost time for summer camps. The 2010 summer will offer new camps, new activities and more opportunities to meet new friends and enjoy new things. Take a look at this year’s camps and decide when you want to join us!

We will work with you and your budget again this year. We will be filing paperwork with CCRS again to help defray summer camp costs to those that qualify. Please speak with Sherry at the office to get your paperwork started early. CCRS will only pay for camps after you have been approved so early paperwork filing is a must.

Summer camps will begin June 7th and run each week ending on the 13th of August. Camps will begin at 8:30 in the morning and end at 3:15 in the afternoon. Children ages 5 thru 11 are invited to attend. The camp schedule allows children to sign up by the week for camps they are especially interested in or they may sign up for all of the camps, which is a total of 10 weeks this year.

June 28-July 2 Happy B-Day Uncle Sam

This camp will center on Uncle Sam’s birthday and the United States with lots of red, white and blue.

July 5-9 These Presidents Rock

Let’s take a look at some presidents in a new way with Flat Stanley on board as our guide.

July 12-16 A Cool Spot

When you talk about cool and spots and then put them together the possibilities are endless…a cool spot might be an iceberg or a spot that appears and disappears…let us help you find a cool spot.

July 19-23 Factor: Fear

There is no need to fear anything at summer camp except fear itself…or maybe a few bugs to eat…seriously this is a fun camp with lots of challenges.

July 26-30 Desert Dwellers

Who or what dwells in the desert? We are going to take a close look at many of the things that like to bake in the desert.

August 2-6 Aloha State

The Aloha State is Hawaii where the waters are beautiful and the sun is warm and smiles are plenty. Join us as we tour the Aloha State from summer camp….

August 9-13 Miniature Mania

Miniature means small so we are going to take making things small to a new level. Everything can be miniaturized!

Registrations for summer camps are included in the newsletter. Any child can attend all of the summer camps or a combination of camps or a single summer camp, whichever fits more conveniently into your personal schedule. All summer camps will include lunch and a snack. Children need to bring a water bottle with their name on it. Children should eat breakfast before coming to camp. For more information about summer camps please contact the park district at 815-432-3931.

The weekly prices for summer camp are:
$65.00 per week in-district/$1.85 per hour

$75.00 per week out-of-district/$2.14 per hour

The price for all 10 weeks of summer camp is:
    $585.00 in-district/ 1 week of camp free
$675.00 out-of-district/1 week of camp free

You must pre-arrange a payment plan if your child is attending all 10 weeks of camp. If attending camp weekly registrations and payment are due the Wed. before the next week of camp.

The park district is able to bill Child Care Resources for children that fit certain income requirements. Payment plans are available for children interested in the entire 10-week program. For more information contact the park district office. Don’t let finances stop you from enrolling your child in the summer camp program. We will work with you.
